Dear FORUM,
Re: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/AIDS-INDIA/message/9203
Thanks for all your response on this matter.
Recently I was in Mumbai and saw a job advertisement for GIPA Coordinator and
Co-ordinator Youth Affairs released by Maharashtra State Aids Control Society
(MSACS).
Sadly somehow the ads read as follows: - GIPA Coordinator should be a Graduate
with experience and he/she should be PLHA and should not be a member of any
networks.
My question is: How many PLHA are Graduates? and are open about their status?
secondly if the person is not connected with any network or is not an Activist
how will he address the issue and ensure meaningful involvement of People Living
with HIV/AIDS.
In the recently, concluded conference in Mexico, from the emails on the AIDS
INDIA e FORUM, it was clear that PLHA are talking of MIPA (Meaningful
involvement of People Living with HIV).
And if the person is not been or is member of any network how will he address
the issues of PLHA and secondly there is need to add skills and knowledge to the
existing systems in SACS and if the person is not aware of what is GIPA, how
MIPA would be possible.
I am sure Ms. Sujata Rao (seems that she is supposed to travel to Maharashtra)
would address this issues with the SACS.
