Dr. Ajithkumar of Medical College ,Trichur, Kerala has been facilitated by the
State Government

Dr. Ajithkumar has been facilitated by the Kerala State Government. This award
is part of this years doctors day celebration of the government which selected
25 doctors. 6 were best doctor award, 10 eminent senior doctors were honored and
9 were given special award for the management and administration in the health
sector.(Rs 5000+ certificate)

The award was distributed by Hon Min for health Smt Sreemathy teacher in a
function presided by Hon minister for law Mr Vijayakumar at Medical college
Trivandrum on 1 July in presence of senior officials

The following was the citation from the Government. "Dr Ajithkumar.K: Assistant
professor, Dermatology Medical College ,Trichur passed MBBS(Medical College
Trichur) MD( Dermatology) and Fellowship in HIV medicine From CMC Vellore .
Joined service in 1999.

He published many books, Undergone overseas training in immunodermatology in
Oxford UK,HIV care in Mi9nnesota USA. Trichur model of HIV care a sustainable
HIV care delivery model which was accepted as a good practice model.As President
of Trichur Medical College Alumni Association, supported academic and
infrastructural development of the college.

As the President of Trichur Medical College Alumni Association envisaged the
project of donating a full-fledged Academic complex(1000seated auditorium, 200
seated lecture halls and an electronic library) to the Government Medical
College Trichur.

This project is nearing completion. With the support of MP fund, from Hon MP PR
Rajan and KSACS established the ART center at Trichur which is probably one of
the best in India with best achievements and infra structure.

Reported the first series of Linear Ig A diseases from India.

Reported the presence of HTLV epidemic in Kerala. Reported a new disease entity"
Vaccine induced necrobiotic granulome". First community based study of the
prevalence of pemphigus from India.

Trainer of trainers in HIV and STD at regional level. Consultant to KSACS.
Organized 3 batches of Hands own training on HIV for doctors which was supported
by DFID.

Instrumental in training every staff member of the Government Medical College
Trichur in HIV and related areas. Received PN Berry scholarship for Training in
UK 1998. Trichur Model HIV care is a sustainable health care system which is
effectively utilized by people, who include tribal and citizens below poverty
line."
