Description

PLEASE READ THIS. IT'S IMPORTANT.

We welcome anyone whose partner has already been diagnosed with AD/HD (Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder)--OR you wonder if it's a possibility and want to learn more.

This is a supportive and informative community. As much as we might love our ADHD partners, the challenges can sometimes be overwhelming. We focus on solutions while also providing a safe place to air your frustrations and concerns.

To learn more about the need for such a group, visit our Web homepage:
http://www.chaddnorcal.org/ADHD_Partner

PLEASE NOTE TWO IMPORTANT POINTS:

1. When you apply to join, Yahoo asks you to explain why in 200 words. But we require a few more details. That's why your application triggers an auto-send mail, explaining why this is necessary. (Don't see that mail? Check your spam filter.)

2. Note that YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS WILL SHOW in each post to the group, exactly as it shows to any other recipient. If you'd like to maintain privacy, simply re-apply under a different address or change it once you are a member.

This is YOUR group, but moderators are standing by:

--Chief moderator is Gina Pera, a former newspaper and magazine editor who has been a member of this group since 2000 and moderator since 2001. She is also the coordinator for CHADD Silicon Valley and CHADD National Volunteer of the Year 2006.

--Associate moderators are long-time group members Carl, Sharon, Mart, Judith, Jane, Les, John, Sarah, and Norma. They've "walked the talk" for many years, have heard hundreds (if not thousands) of new members' stories, and have uncommon good sense and compassion.

This group is an unfacilitated "support" group, and should not be seen as psychotherapy or a substitute for professional care. This group is sponsored by the Northern California chapter of CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder). Neither CHADD nor the moderators specifically endorse what anyone says in the GRO
