Hi, my name is Michelle and I am a 23 year old stepmother to Ashley.
Ashely is in the 2nd grade and was diagnosed with ADHD when she was
5. Ashley came to live with us after having a really rough life with her
mother. In school she is failing miserably. She has been on adderall
10mg since the first grade and in the last 6 months she has gone down
hill. She either gets really lethargic in class or she runs rampid in circles
and cant be calmed down. She likes to hurt other people and it is a
struggle everyday to understand her. I feel frustrated and hopeless. She
doesnt sleep at night and is put back to bed hundreds of time within
hours. It is scary to raise my birth child (Trae 3 years old) around her
knowing he sees her behavior. She lives with me and i am at a loss of
what to do. We have done counseling- nuero psych tests and constant
positive reinforcement. If anyone has input it would be a blessing.
