I joined the group hoping to get some insight or maybe connect with
other military families who might be dealing with a similar
situation as myself. Three years ago my daughter was diagnosed with
inattentive ADD. Since that time, I have done a lot of reading on
the subject and am positive that my husband has adult ADD although
he has never been tested for it. He is in the military and is afraid
to seek medical help for fear of being discharged before he can
retire in 3 years. He was transferred to a new duty station last
year, a job that requires much more organization and focus than
previous jobs he has had. This is causing him a tremendous amount of
stress because he just can't seem to stay consistent with his job
requirements. I would very much appreciate any information about
herbs or something organic that does not have to be perscribed by a
doctor (and would not show up on a urinalysis) but might possibly
help him. Has anyone heard of Attend and/or Memorin? If so, I would
be interested in any information you could share. Or possibly hear
from others who are serving as an active duty military member
(preferrably in the Navy) and have been diagnosed and are being
treated for ADD. It seems a shame that the military would discharge
someone for trying to get help and be a more productive individual.
