hi all. i need some shoulders and understanding ears. i am 32 years
old, i have ADD, but i am not concerned with that. what my problem
is... my husband has four grown children all with their own extra
special mental problems, and only one with a desire for a better
life. my husband and i have custody of his soon to be 5 year old
granddaughter, Jayda, with some weighty problems. first is the
predisposition
of having adhd, she also has defiance disorder. we also have reason
to believe her mother did some drugs while pregnant. we know she
smoked and used alchohol while pregnant, so this beautiful child is
loaded with strikes against her. she is prescribed ritalin, but it
makes her hallucinate, and i don't want to give it to her. she is
just too young, i feel. we have lots of behavior problems and i can
go on all day, but since this is my first posting, the question is,
to medicate or not? her behaviors are getting worse and so are mine.
i work full time plus alot of overtime my husband is retired, and he
stays home with her.every bit of free time is spent arguing with her
and we are all ready to be institutionalized. someone help me please.
