Re: can't afford to git my A.D.D. taken care of
It would be so easy to say "You can't afford not to" But, even though
life could be so much better with ADD under control, it doesn't pay
the rent or help feed the children.
I have health insurance, yet to get a MD
to prescribe Ritalin is like pulling teeth. I am told "I have to see
you every
week!, "you have to see a therapist 3 times before you can see the
MD".. Hey I'm 56 years old and all I need is Ritalin!
Hopefully you know what kind of medicine will treat the ADD you have.
Ritalin works for some, yet there are 3 or 4 other main stream
medicines which could also work.
Try your local mental health or family consultation type service,
check with the united way in your area. Of course you must see
someone who can prescribe medicine, that is a BIG catch. Once you do
you can always get the generic forms of the medicine. I think the
main thing is getting to a MD.
Let me know how things work out.
(Also since ADD is hereditary, keep
an eye out for it with your children.)
