to all the parents sharing this list,
i want to encourage all of you with the following: we have been very challenged with some of our kids, but when we found the CORRECT solution, it was fantastic.
the correct solutions came in various forms. keep trying until you hit it right - its worth the journey.
one solution i will share: her name is adiva shachnai. she has been teaching kids with a multitude of various problems for many years and SHE was the one who gave me correct guidance. she teaches kids in her home in katamon (i'd love to carpool if any of you bet shemesh parents are interested). she has made THE WHOLE FAMILY a much nicer place to be, because of her help to one child. her number is 566-3470.
good luck to all.

My 4th grade daughter has a lot of trouble reading. Since it's hard, she also doesn't want to do that which would help her improve most -- Read. She has ADD and takes Ritalin. She's bright, so she keeps up with her class with the help of a tutor, since everything is verbal. I've had her evaluated. Her vision is not the issue any longer. She has trouble processing and recognizing words. She is quick to formulate ideas, but slow to express them.
Can anyone make any suggestions? Do other people have kids with similar issues?
Thanks,
Cindy Mizrahi
