advice needed
our daughter, orit, was supposed ot go to a certain beit shemesh for
grade 1 this year.
we had met with the principal as part of a group of parents whose
daughters had been in language gan , and requested that the girls
all go together and we would pay for a special ed teacher to hep them
a couple of hours a day in the classroom
for reasons i cannot fathom, all the other girls in the group were
accepted except our orit
she is not the "furthest behind"
she is not the only one from "out of the neighbourhood"
she is not the only one who does not already have a sister in the school
we registered her at the same time as the others
yet, the message that i got is that she was "on the waiting list" and
so they cannot accept her
we were not told at the time that we registered that sh ewas on
a waiting list, adn we did not register her anywhere else
now, all the other schools are telling me that davka THAT school is
opening a third grade 1 girls class, AND davka THAT school is having
a kita mekademet for grades 1-2 next year, so if they discover that
she does need special ed, that is the best place for her to start cuz
it is one less transition
no one wants her - they all have 40 girls (almost) in their classes,
so "this is not good for her"
is it worth fighting to get her into a school that clearly does not want her?
is it worth fighting for her to get into another school, in which the
classes are more crowded , and at least be with two neighbours on our street?
any other advice?
thanks
