PLAINTXT-NONE-0000-0000-000000000000 ; You may want to contact
B'Zchut. They are a non profit organization, with lawyers, who advocate for
people with special needs in Israel. They have been very instrumental in
lobbying the knesset over the years. I don't have their phone number but they
have a website which contains a lot of important information regarding special
education laws and rights.
Maybe they can help. If they do help you then please share it with this list so
that we can all benefit from it.
The other thing that everyone should know is that every child is entitled to go
to school in their district if they are not designated as special ed. So if your
child does not have the kita mikademet status, then you can fight the iriya
(wherever you live) to have her enrolled in school. (Unfortunately while they
have to honor your preference for a dati school, if that is your concern, they
do not have to place her in the school of your choice, but where ever their is
room.)
Best of luck
Gayle

Subject: [ADD_ADHD_LD] Removal 07 PLS Advise
Since the 07 was removed my daughter cannot get into 9th grade/ HS. She was
offered a kita mekademet, since only those are getting funding. I have always
kept her out of that type of class w/extra help etc. She has done fine. This is
2008, kids w/learning problems can be in reg. classrooms. Not to mention my
daughter is devastated. Has anyone else had/have this problem? Where is it best
to start the fight? (Any lawyers out there, pls contact me privately)
Thank-you Chana Dan
