There is a maon yom shikumi, called P'tachya in the kirya. It is a day care
center for babies with special needs, and provides all the therapies.
A new program is starting in September, where children ages 6month- 3 years,
with special needs will be integrated in a regular dati day care center.
This program, called mi'sikun lisikui is designed for children who need some
type of therapy and extra help in the maon but would benefit from being in a
regular maon environment. Their therapies will be provided on site at the
maon.
For more information about Sikun Liskui call Vardit Spiegelman, MSW, at
Mercaz Rakefet 992-0947. If someone needs contact information about Ptachya,
I can look it up at work.
In either case, this mother may benefit from contacting the social services
department of the iriya and speaking to Avital Arzi who is the social worker
in charge of these type of children.
