Hello,
I'm hoping someone can set me straight regarding kitot shiluv or
kitot meshalvot (not clear on what the proper term is) in the
mamlachti-dati sector in Jerusalem.
I understand that there was a shiluv program in a mamad in Ramot that
was very successful but which closed last year. I have a son
currently studying in a gan safa and have been told that the defunct
Ramot program would have been his best option for first grade next
year, but that nothing has been done to reconstitute it or replace it
in a different mamad in Jerusalem.
I have some confusion over what exactly the Ramot program was.
Aren't there kitot shilov in various schools all over town? Don't
they open up classes like these every year? The gan safa ganenet has
told us that children from her gan last year who needed a kitat
shiluv ended up going to regular first grade classes with no support
services, due to the closing of the Ramot program. I have no reason
not to believe the ganenet, but it still sounds a little improbable.
Would appreciate any clarification on this issue.
Thanks!
