Today I picked up my 9 year old daughter from a hug and found here lying on
the floor with a severe headache. She came home, vomited, and has been
sleeping ever since. Towards the end of the last school year she suffered
from about 2 to 3 headaches per week. She was taking 3/4 of a 10mg short
release tablet of Ritalin. I have given her no Ritalin since the 3rd week of
June. She suffered from only one headache this summer. Clearly, the
headaches could be a side-effect of the drug. But they could also be a
result of how she is managing stress at school. However, today she had no
Ritalin. Of course the first day of school can be noisy, overwhelming, and
stressful. Does anyone out there have any thoughts about how to approach the
headaches?
As an aside, I starting giving her cod liver oil 10 days ago.
Thank you, Sarina
