It's an interesting idea. As a teenager I needed music to work - today I
have learned to live without it, but when my officemate is on vacation I
definitely bring in the tunes.
My dad, z"l, used to spend Saturday morning listening to "Live from the Met"
on the radio, watching whatever sport was on TV (with sound off), drinking
coffee and doing the crossword puzzle ...
I'd be interested to hear more about this as a formal theory.
