Advance Care Directives
Most states have three documents that help ensure that even if patients can't speak for themselves, they will get only the care they desire when gravely ill. They are: A living will, a healthcare proxy and a do-not-resuscitate order. |

Mediation
Mediation, a form of alternative dispute resolution (ADR), aims to assist two (or more) disputants in reaching an agreement. The key component of mediation is that whether an agreement is reached, and the nature of that agreement, if any, is determined by the parties themselves rather than being imposed by a third party. Mediation can apply in a variety of disputes. These include commercial, legal, diplomatic, workplace, community and divorce or other family matters. |

OPERATION HELMET
OPERATION HELMET provides helmet upgrade kits free of charge to troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as to those ordered to deploy in the near future. These helmet upgrades do three primary things: Comfort - If it is more comfortable, it will stay on troop's head longer and more often. Stability - Keeps the helmet firmly on the head and out of the eyes.Protection - Shock-absorbing pads keep the helmet from slapping the skull when hit with blast forces, fragments, or being tumbled along the ground or inside a vehicle. This decreases the chance of brain injury from bombs, RPG's, vehicle accidents, falls, etc. http://www.operation-helmet.org/index.html |

Snowdrop
Snowdrop provides programmes of neuro-cognitive stimulation for children who suffer developmental problems. Those problems may express themselves as more global difficulties such as cerebral palsy or autism, or more specific difficulties such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, or specific language impairment. Treatment is carried out by the family in the child's own home. Our ‘programmes’ are variable in their intensity, depending upon the particular problems displayed by the child and are designed to fit in with what the family can practicably achieve without placing them under an undue burden of stress. We place a strong emphasis on learning through play. We believe that the best environment for development to have a chance of taking place is one where both child and family are happily motivated and jointly focussed on the same objectives. http://www.snowdrop.cc |

The Race2Safety Foundation
The Race2Safety Foundation has its roots in the life experience of former NASCAR Winston Cup driver Ernie Irvan, who in 1994 suffered horrific injuries from a crash going into Turn One at Michigan International Speedway. In 1994, Ernie Irvan was at the top of the NASCAR standings, competing fiercely with Dale Earnhardt for the points championship when he sustained life-threatening injuries, including a traumatic brain injury (TBI), in a horrific crash at Michigan International Speedway (MIS). Irvan triumphantly returned to the NASCAR circuit - only to suffer nearly identical injuries in a crash at the same race track exactly five years to the day after his 1994 incident. This time, the resulting TBI ended his NASCAR racing career. He is National Spokesman for Brain Injury Association of America http://www.race2safety.com/ |
