We invite all recovering alcoholics to share a lead or in our meetings.
To do that record a share and submit it to the files section in the form of an mp3.
You can do that in several ways.
Currently we have found that using the free program, Itunes works quite well. Download it here http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and instal Itunes.
then record your share. If you have Windows xp go to start/All programs/Accessories/entertainment/sound recorder. With a mic you can record you lead or share as a wav file. Then take your wav file and convert it to an mp3.
A) Open Itunes. Start/all programs/Itunes/Itunes
B) Using File/ import open your saved recording in Itunes.
C) Then click Edit/preferences/and click the importing tab.
D) Set import using: to MP3 Encoder
E) Set setting: to custom, double click so that a window opens
Stereo bit rate to 16 kbpd
Sample rate: 16.000kHz
Channels: Auto
Stereo Mode: joint stereo
check smart Ecoding and Filter Frequencies below 10 Hz
Click ok, box will close
F) uncheck Play songs while importing
check Use error correction when reading audio CD's
click ok.
G) in the ITunes main panal right click on the name of the file you would like to convert.
H) Right click convert selection to MP3
I) Right click on newly created file, click get info, click info tab and fill out name( first or your handle only) and comments. Let us know if this is a lead or what topic you are sharing on.
J) Click summary to see Where: the file is, upload to the files section of this group
When you record your mp3s they don't need to be of very high quality -- just 16mgz --
