My Dad sent me a email yesterday regarding a new study at the University
of Florida. Below is what he said was mentioned on TV the other night.

FYI----- There is a study just completed by the University of Florida
concerning fibromyalgia.

They believe they have determined that it is a condition that is caused
by a malfunction in the central nervous system. The pain that is
suffered is the same pain that is suffered by a normal person. However,
in a fibromyalgic, the pain does not subside and disappear in a normal
amount of time but continues to persist, sometimes indefinitely.( I was
reminded of how your teeth ached long after they had been worked on).

There is something wrong in the central nervous system that does not
allow the pain to shut off as it is supposed to. The study was headed by
a Dr. Robert Staud. The study will continue on in a quest to get to the
solution for fibro. I expect your fibro "sources" will have a lot more
details in the coming weeks.
