Anyone who would like to participate in the 250 mile Walking Challenge is welcome. We are walkers, hikers, nordic trackers, treadmillers, bikers, recumbent bikers, "Walk Away the Pounds" users, and joggers/runners. We started Jan. 20, 2003 on the WeightWatchers.com Challenge Central Board as "250 Miles by June 1." We've done 15 five-month walking challenges, including the one we will finish April 1, 2009. On April 1, 2009 we will start a new group challenge of "250 Miles by September 1, 2009." The challenge is to work up to 2 miles a day, 13 miles a week, or 50 miles a month; if you do it, in 5 months you will have walked 250 miles, and if you have stuck with the challenge and a healthy eating program for the whole five months, you will see wonderful changes in your health, fitness and size! Some members will finish the 250 miles early and start another personal goal, but others will go at a slower pace and new members will be starting all the time, so each is welcome to set her/his own personal mileage goal or target date. Many of us are also doing "abs," weights and other workouts. You can join at any time.
