Good morning everyone and Happy Holiday's.
Recently we have noticed that our 3 and a half year old son Daniel has
started to act out when frustrated. Daniel will hit his head on the
ground and bite his hand and hit himself in the face when he is
told "no" or is removed from an activity that he does not want to quit.
In addition, we have received 2 reports from his teachers that he has
bitten one of the other students in his classroom. I am wondering if
anyone else has seen these actions in their children and if so, how do
you deter it.
I am concerned that when we take his hand out of his mouth or pick him
up after he has bounced his head on the ground, we are in fact fueling
the action by giving him attention as the result of it.
Please let me know what has or has not worked for you.
Thank you very much for taking the time to review this.
