Re: Bowel Movements

This seems to be a never ending problem with our kids. We can't
seem to get any regulation. Brayden is much worse than Zach, but
they are both on Miralax laxative as well as mineral oil. Brayden
will go a whole week with nothing and then he gets really distended
and we have to give him an enima (not fun!). Zach has never had to
have an enima, but still has problems. I was a bit confused though
because the doctor told us they both have chronic constipation, but
Zach always has very loose, but small amounts in his diaper--several
times a day. Not to be too graphic, but the doctor told us what is
happening is the loose stuff is coming out around the big plug and
that is causing his bottom to be raw. If he could get the plug out,
it would be more regular. Some weeks the medications work and some
weeks they don't. It is very difficult for trying to potty train
the kids because they can't regulate the loose stuff that comes out
around the plug. I really would like to find a fix because I feel
like they won't be able to be fully potty trained until they become
a bit more regular.
