Re: [11q_disorders] Bowel Movements

Jeremy,
Inconsistance in bowel movements with my son Nathan,5, is a nightmare. It is better now but we still struggle as well. Is she ripping and making it bleed or is it a breakdown around her rectum? Nathan had a terrible time with his stool breaking down the skin and up untill this year had to use a special balm on his bottom.  We still occasionally have to break it out when he has boughts of loose stool. Nathan was diagnosed with Hirshsprungs at birth and had a "pull through" operation. This may be something you might want to check into as well.

I was wondering if anyone else had any experiences with bowel
problems. Faith, 3 yrs, is so inconsistent with her bowel movements.
Sometimes she will go 3 times a day and other times not for 5-7 days.

She also does not condense the stool to passable sizes and she will rip
and bleed at times. This too is not consistent. We continue to
struggle regulating it. The stools that rip are usually soft and not
hard so we are not sure why this is happening. Anyone else have these
problems and has anyone found anything that works?

Jeremy
