My boys have done both and they both have helped. We also didn't try
and do both of them at the same time either. I think they work on
different areas. For the past couple of years the boys have both been
doing hippo. It has done a lot for their trunk muscles that they use
for sitting, standing, and walking. When Zach started he couldn't
even sit up by himself. The boys love it too--I don't think they know
that they are working. We have also noticed other that they are more
verbal and interactive when they are on the horses. The therapists
saythat the movement gets their sensory system going and that is
probably why they are more verbal and interactive while on the
horses. We haven't done aquatics in several years, because we have
been more focused on the benefits from hippo the past few years, but
they both loved aquatics when they did that too.
