Re: [11q_disorders] Eyeglasses for Baby w/hearing aides

Hi Marisa,
We had the same problem with Cody. We found that a wire frame with a wrap around the ear worked best for him. The wire frames are light weight and the wrap around the ear helps hold them on the ears. The brand we had to buy was Hush Puppies (Pups) eyeware for kids. They were more expensive but the best and most durable. Our problem was Cody did not want to wear them at all. He would get them all out of wack or break them. He is now older and is interested finally in wanting to see the world! It took us 9 years to get to this point though. Hope this is helpful info for you.

Subject: [11q_disorders] Eyeglasses for Baby w/hearing aides

Anyone have a solution for a baby needing prescription glasses but
they either are falling off constantly or not staying in place? Is
there a special kind that work the best? Are contact lenses a
possibility for an infant? The glasses seem to be more of a nuisance
than a help.
Our Noah is 12 months old but doesn't have good head control yet. He
spends a lot of time lying back on a seat or on the floor so the
glasses get pushed forward. He also wears hearing aides which compete
for space behind the ears!
I welcome your suggestions or experience!
Thanks.Marisa Feeley
