I would be interested to know if any other JS children have been
diagnosed with Hirshsprungs. I had never heard of it before until
it was mentioned here. Brayden's constipation is so bad that I
always wonder if there is something more going on and if there is
any way to ever fix his problem. I looked it up and he has some of
the symptoms, but not all. Angela and Becky, do your kids have all
of the symptoms? Is it something that can be detected by x-ray? He
has had bowel x-rays and the doctor has never mentioned anything
like that before, but my interest is peaked and I want to ask his
doctor if she has ever checked him for it. I wonder if it is common
in JS patients.

Hirshsprungs. He to was put to sleep to undergo the surgical
procedure to determine if he had it. He had the surgery when he was
a week old. He went through many many diapers the first year of his
life. Sits bath where a daily routine. They where able to do his
surgery per rectum (known as pull through surgery) and removed 18
centimeters of his intestine. Long term...Nathan is now 4 1/2. He
is not potty trained, not known if this is due to the Hirshprungs or
the 11 Q- as children with both have problems in this area. He has
suffered all his life with cronic rashes (almost safe to say pure
rawness) around his rectum. According to the other parents I have
spoke with whose children had the pull through surgery this is
common and different docotrs suggest different remedies. He got
relased from his proctologist in Oct. of last year (yeah) but sees a
GI for any problems that occur. Hope this helps.
