If you're an ADDult looking ONLY for ADDult support, please visit our "sister" list at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ADDventures
This support group is for parents who have school-aged children living in their home with ADHD, as well as other disabilities. Through relaying of information and experience, we hope to enrich each other's lives as we strive for a better understanding of AD/HD. Since AD/HD rarely goes unaccompanied, we invite parents whose children have other disabilities in their lives in addition to AD/HD. Bring your laughter, your tears, your need to vent, and your triumphs.
In our discussions, we will primarily be discussing parenting issues, education, IDEA, and treatment options with the choice being left to the individual. Medication is never an easy choice, (especially for our children) but it is a choice that only the adult/parent has a right to make. NO ONE will criticize another's choice of treatment. We also welcome discussion on ADDult issues, (hey, our kids got it somewhere, right?) but please know that our kids do take center ring here. The ADDventures list is more for ADDult discussions.
Due to our discussions and the safeguarding of our members' privacy, this list has a restricted membership. Once you request membership, and the List Owner is notified, you will be sent a questionnaire which we require to be completed prior to approving a membership request. The answers you submit are held in the strictest confidence. Only the List Owner and Co-Moderator ever see the answers submitted and the questionnaires are only used as a screening method to ensure no spammers or less-than-desirable people try to access our members.
Come join us as we celebrate our lives and share our experiences. This is a great group of genuinely supportive members who've become great friends in the process! Join us!
