alena is sounds to me like you dont have confidence in yourself. here
is something that may help you in this matter. first of all if you are
going to the doctor for something minor--not requiring surgery then you
are one step ahead. then if you know what you are going for then read up
on all the info on so you are pretty well informed on the matter. take
a pen and a pad and if you ask a question that you may forget answer
to write it down. dont be afraid to do this. remember that you are
the CUSTOMER and a paying one at that !! hence you are really the boss
and he is to only assist you in deciding what is best for YOU. this
will be a big help. now if i have a problem such as menopause problems
. firts i got to a good book store like barnes and nobels or borders
and i sit for a hour or more and read up on all the stuff. one book is
never enough and when i get done even if i make two trips i usually
find out i dont need that doctor at all. and if i do go i know what
testing i want etc. and if he suggests another i go read up on that and
then i decide and call the doctor back and let them know. i will ask if
they have any material to read on that test to explailn etc. ----never
let them rush you---like do they rush to get you in at the visit time.
NO. so you see really there is seldom more then once or twice a year
you will even need a doctor and when you do REMEMBER YOU ARE THE PAYING
CUSTOMER.. have some confidence in yourself . you decide what is right
for you with the doctors suggestions. some may be the right ones for you
and some the wrong. why? because doctors dont listen often enough. .
they think they know it all. of course you cant telll them that. but you
can be sneaky also and act like you are taking it all in and will
decide. -------i get nervous as hell also at a doctors but to myself
i am saying. well here i am now i will listen and ask questions and i
will decide what i need. hope this helps you. remember they are
people also and if your doctor is a jerk and mouthy then find a better
one. they are out there.
