Ok, this is going to sound pathetic and stupid, but I have been
suffering with a few medical problems over the past 5 months and havent
been in to see a dr because i'm so afraid of what they'll say or find.
The scariest part, and the part thats killing me inside is the fact
that i have 2 young boys, who are the loves of my life. I'm a single
father and neither them nor myself have anyone else to really take care
of us. So, i'm torn between the fear of going in, and the fear and
guilt of losing them if something terrible was to be diagnosed.
Heres my problems medically. Apx 5 months ago, I stopped smoking
because I couldnt seem to stop the congestion i had in my right lung.
And on top of that, I had some pains in my back, of which I have always
had a problem with over the years. Anyways, to make a long story short
without trying to leave anything out, I stooped smoking, but the
congestion never went away, I get short of breath just playing with the
boys etc, and my back pain that is up near the shoulder blade/ spine/
neck area never really goes away either, and has actually turned into
lack of balance and strength on my total right side from my right arm
down to my leg(some days worse than others), and i actualy have what
appear to be weird convulsions in my right arm, that last for apx 2
minutes. This has happened apx 7-8 times in the past 3 months, and
shakes profusely down my right arm, from shoulder blade to hand. Once
it stops, my right hand feels tingly for a few minutes and my arm turns
slightly weak for a day or so, but never really gets truely better.
Its extremely hard for me to have any real control while typing this
with my right hand. I have no real control, my arm is kinda numb and I
can feel like some kind of nerves jumping or tingling inside.
I cannot sleep on my right side due to the congestion in my right
chest. I have been using a ephedrine inhaler for asthsma when I first
get, up which seems to help clear out my lung well enough to breath,
and i also use it a few times a day to help me get through the day. I'm
not one who can easily spit up phlegm, but whenever I do, there has
never been any traces of blood. Its always clear as day. I have no
blood in my urine, or stools either.
I dont know what to do. I know i'm suffering each day, and whatever it
is is getting worse, but having no medical ins at this time and being
as fearful as I am, I need some support. I do have a friend flying in
from out of state the second week in sept, to talk to me and give me
support, tell me everything will be ok, and go in with me to see a dr.
She will be able to stay here as well, in case I need someone to help
with my kids.
Any prayers, comments, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Kevin
