Thank you for bringing up the safety/trust issue with doctors.  It was sort of an "a-ha" moment for me as I realized I don't feel that way with my primary care physician.  DUH!  No wonder I don't/won't go.  

Question:  Some friends have given me referrals to their doctors and I'd like to consider trying one on for size - for example, make an appointment just to talk to them (no treatment, touching) to see if I get a good vibe or not.  Do you know if doctors do this?  Will insurance cover?

When you go to the doctor, don't let him treat you unless you feel comfortable and safe with him/her.  I have been watching my husband's new doctor and feel real good about the way the doctor is treating him and almost have enough nerve to make an appt. for myself.  I have not had a check up in more than 10 years due to fear and distrust.

Sometimes finding out as much as you can about the doctor can help.  Some of them have websites which list their credentials.  Maybe you could try that?

Good luck, and as the previous responder mentioned, the possibility of having a mole removed (if that is necessary), can be very simple.
