The NHS dentist I saw probably underestimated the difficulty.  He
pulled the tooth out.  A week later it was still painful.  It turned
out he had left quite a big piece of the tooth in and I was also
developping a dry clot.  The second time round was worse.  It took 45
mns to pull whatever was left in there and nearly a week later I am
still in pain. I went back to see him and he told me everything was
fine which is unfortunately what he has been saying all along even when
it was not as mentioned above.
Basically he said that it would still hurt for a while, both my jaw and
my ear and that the clove dressing would resorb itself with no need to
change it. That seems strange to me and was wondering whether any one
on this forum has heard or experienced a clove dressing following a dry
clot after a tooth extraction and if so whether it was changed or left
to its own device.

I got 5 etxractions + 5 implants in 2 hrs lidocaine only no poblemsIn
the top front too.
Got prety temps for 3 months,
No pain at all not after. The fear was the worst tho.
He gave me Valium.
I know the guy so I trrusted him.
I used to work in the same building as him in San Diego.
Coronado acutally.
I could not  afford it in the US anyway.
He moved his US practice to Tijauana.
Ask me if you want know who he is.

Description
(I) LECTURES

Covering the patient selection, treatment planning, surgical,
prosthetic and maintenance phases of implant treatment. Various
treatment modalities, new concepts, and laboratory procedures will be
discussed in detail.

(II) LIVE SURGERIES

Live step by step demonstration of implant placement in a patient will
be performed. Live steps of prosthetically restoring the patient will
also be performed.

(III) HANDS-ON TRAINING

In hands on training sessions the participant will be trained to perform:
Radiographic interpretation
Ridge mapping procedures
Surgical guide preparation
Different types of flaps and suturing techniques
Step by step implant placement in prepared bone specimens
Different impression techniques
Abutment selection and prosthesis construction (laboratory and
clinical steps)

(IV) CLINICAL TRAINING

Candidates are required to place at least one implant that will be
provided by the course (included in the course fees). Implants will be
placed and restored under supervision from the course team.

VENUE:

The course will be held in the center of excellence at the faculty of
dentistry, Alexandria university. This will allow us to make use of
the new well equipped lecture rooms and theatres and new dental
clinics and facilities available at the center of excellence.

The school will also provide us with certificates accredited by the
school and alexandria university and ministry of foreign affairs,
which is important for those who plan to use the certificates abroad.

I would tell them you have a dental phobia.
Or I woudl go to a regular doctor and ask for antibiotics. Ask for
doycycline. Anoather pserson told me if you have pain to dab rubbing
alscoholl on the area with a soton swab and that   has staved of
going to the dentist for me year after year to be honest with you.
Also the antibiotics have helped me for years I still hate gong. I
have not gone in over ten years again. Befor e thatit was ten and
before that it was 13. It's not as unusual as you think. Or maybe we
are just 2 nuts, but I doubt it. The majority of ppl in the work=d
hae never even used a phone. HEy, if you tell them you have no money
and no insurance they wil not doa procedure, they will just give you
the antibiotics. Know if you are allergic though. -sd

plaque/yellow.Also, I did lose a upper back tooth last year...the hole
where it was is black..and just recently lost a chunk of tooth from
the lower..for a month or so I've been in a bit of pain with
toothache...I'm living on Paracetamol 500mg to ease pain.As I asked
above, will I be frowned upon? I currently have no dentist.Im in

I totally understand! I did not go to a dentist until i was 17, as my
parents thought it a waste of money. So, by that time, when i had my
own money, i was so in fear of tales of the dentists, that i put it
off for years and stayed in fear until MANY years later. Gradually i
was forced to go, and had sedation, novacaine, anything to put me to
sleep, even to CLEAN my teeth! Finally this year, in fact yesterday,
i found myself sitting in a dental chair and had a filling and noticed
that it was not as bad as i thought. All those years when i let the
fear stop me. the truth of it is, we must go thru the fear and pick
up the phone and make that appt. it will only get worse if u don't.
i would suggest that u find a kind and gentle dentist that u can share
your fears. There are some who will listen. I support u 100%. Good

a case of 14 yr boy with the space of 2mm between 2 & 3 wheather
should he be Eligible for implant right now or should we wait till 17
yr or 18 yr. he has  attained a gud height.

hi everyone, i'm new to the group.

i'm generally pretty terrified of dentists, but i love my teeth very
much and pretty much force myself to go get cleanings (usually once
evert 3 years i can work myself up to it).

last year i skipped out on a crown procedure and then became pregnant,
and then my two teeth that needed crowns deteriorated more during my
pregnancy.  so after my daughter was born, i forced myself to go get
the procedure done (i told them to give me the gas, but even during
the procedure i was incredibly tense and my legs were shaking)...

after they took impressions, and then ground my two front teeth down,
they put the temporary teeth on.
when i looked in the mirror, the gums around my top right tooth were
blue and bruised looking.  i thought that was normal since the dentist
didn't say anything about it.  but now that i think about it, the gums
above my left tooth looked normal, so i probably should have asked.

anyway, the next day the blue/bruised part of my gums was completely
white.  it was like there wasn't any blood getting to that part of my
gums, or the tissue had died or something.  i'm still not sure what
happened, because friday my dentist office was closed.  i tried
calling the emergency number but the on-call dentist didn't know
because he couldn't see it, but said that my gums were probably
irritated when they were grinding my teeth down.  he told me just to
ask my dentist on monday, but in the meantime rinse with saltwater
three X daily.

but i'm really worried, because the next day when i was brushing my
teeth, a chunk of the white part sluffed off, so there was a hole
within the white part of my gums.  it exposed part of my temporary
tooth, where the gums SHOULD have been covering.

today i woke up and the hole is gone, but now it's just a
whitish/brown blob of gum tissue surrounded by purplish/red gums.
it is not swollen at all.  i'm avoiding that area with my toothbrush
from now on, because i don't want more of it to sluff off.  :(

so i guess my question is, is it trying to scab over?

will my gums grow back?  will they grow normally?

has this happened to anyone else where a dentist irritated your gums
and they turned white?

i'm really scared and nervous.  i'm scared of having gum problems, and
even more scared of needing a gum graft to cover that area if it needs
it.  i've heard lots of horror stories about gum grafts popping off.
and it really sucks because it's my front tooth, one of the most
noticable areas of my smile.  i'm very scared.

can anyone help me with this?
