Hi elise. *Hugs* I'm sorry that you're so worried. Can you
perhaps get a second opinion as to getting the impressions and if
the teeth should be extracted beforehand or not? Even if the answer
was yes, at least you could rest a little more easily knowing that
you were getting the most proper medical advice about your dentures
and your teeth. Please take good care, aimee

Well as I said before I was joining this dating site here http://search.dateu.to, and after around 2 weeks I've been playing around on there talking to girls on their cams. Anyway, I sent a few of the cute ones near me messages and after a bit of chat I have two dates lined up for next week. I am a bit nervous since I haven't had a date in a while, but I'm honestly looking forward to it. Anyway, I'll keep you guys informed on how it works out for me. And for the rest of you having trouble pulling a date check it out: http://search.dateu.to
I have to get an upper denture and because I have a very loose dental
bridge covering the front 6 teeth, my dentist feels it will come out
when he takes an impression for the denture. There for, he wants me
to get ALL my upper teeth out before he takes any impressions.
I had thought I could get both sides out first, then take the
impressions while I still had my 6 front teeth, and get them taken
out when the denture was made, so I wouldn't have to be toothless for
any long length of time.
I'm panicing here!! It's bad enough to have to go thru this at all,
but now the thought of being toothless is freaking me out!!
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Hugs,

You know, I don't really need online dating too much, I don't have a problem meeting guys in the clubs and that. But this one; http://search.dateu.to is actually alot of fun. I just like to play around on my webcam talking to other hotties and having a bit of fun. Lots of cute guys and girls on there too. Take a look at my profile here, it's the one up the top. If you interested in having a chat or webcam talk just drop me a personal message over there: http://search.dateu.to
Hi
I am in dire need of massive dental work. I would prefer having my
teeth pulled and just getting dentures. Some of my teeth broke at
the gum line. Would a dentist remove them or would I have to go to a
surgeon? I am so frightened and embarrassed to go. My dentist that I
was seeing doesn't take my insurance anymore and I need to find a
very compassionate Dr. I'm such a baby. I live in Suffolk County on
Long Island NY.
Any suggestions I would greatly appreciate.
Thank you
Rottierules
Elise, *Hugs* perhaps they can find a good vein to use on you from
your hand or another place.

My name is Cris I am from germany and I am 38 years old. My whole life I had problems with my teeth; when I was 12 years old I got lots of teeth filled and I got some braces for about 4 years. After that I had lots of cavities and got one golden crown and one inlay. I hated going to the dentist my whole life and still have a lot of fear.
At the moment I wear some partial dentures and I have a lot of work still to be done.
Need some crossed fingers to get the work done. Really hate it....
Chris

First I want to thank everyone who responded to my last post. It
means alot to me to have understanding, compassionate people in my
corner. I went to my regular dentists today to see about getting an
upper denture. It seems that the bridge I have on my front 6 teeth,(
there are only 3 teeth under it that support it ) is so loose, he's
afraid my teeth will come out when he goes to do impressions.
SO.........he wants me to get ALL of my upper teeth out and a week
later he'll start impressions. That means I'll be WITHOUT teeth for
about 6 weeks while the teeth are being made!! I thought I was going
to be able to get immediates..Besides that, the fear of having ALL my
teeth pulled out with hopefully an IV Sedation is freaking me out!
The oral surgeon says he isn't sure he'll be able to do the IV
Sedation on me, because he has to make sure he can find a good vein
to use..get that!
I'm a very heavy woman, and not sure if that has something to do with
it, but these guys have me scared out of my mind right now. I am
soooooo upset:-(
Besides some other upsetting things going on in my life, this takes
the cake..When it rains it pours.
Hugs to all,
Elise
Hey people! I am pretty new to the group and I don't mean to be annoying, but I wanted to let all of you know I finally got my webcam back. It took a while to repair, but everything is running great now, and the picture is crystal clear. The repair guy also told me that he added some new software to allow me to talk live to those watching me! So if any of you guys want to chat come try it out on my new homepage :)
*Hugs* Elise ;-) I'm not sure if you got my message from the other group
so I'll just forward you my basic message :-) I'm sorry that you are so
frightened! I absolutely hate going to the dentist!! I think I'd rather
get another colonoscopy (scope of the colon/large intestine) rather than
going to the dentist and getting cavities filled or any type of work done
to my teeth :-)
Is anesthesia your main concern? Cause I believe that there are
alternatives to general anesthesia/being put to sleep. Of course When
;-) you talk with the dentist, he or she can talk to you about options.
Some people can get local anesthesia with IV sedation as an alternative
to general anesthesia. I'm not certain that that is a workable option in
your case (and with getting dentures), but it's something to find out
about from the dentist. Have you ever been to this dentist? Perhaps
some of your worry is that he or she is not competent or experienced.
Perhaps you can get a referral from someone, either a friend or from
someone else and check out the dentist's experience and credentials.
Please write back! Take good care, Aimee
Hi everyone, I have gone thru years of living with the pain and
suffering of having teeth that should be pulled. It's come to my
needing an upper denture and I've got a terrible fear of the dentist
so it's been a devestating thought to me.
I should give some background: I am a very heavy woman, and have been
told it's dangerous to put someone my size to sleep. So, I'm very
concerned about how I would ever do this without being totally
knocked out!
I have a bad upper molar that at this present time is hurting so I
have to act quickly.
I need some support and others input and stories to get me thru this.
I'm so scared, I'm having trouble even picking up the phone to make
an appointment! Please help me! Thank you all so much.
Sincerely,
Elise

As far as I know, this CAN be normal with any filling, white or amalgam (due to
trauma). Give it at least 4 weeks, unless it's very painful. Can take longer.
Give
it a chance to settle down - the time frame can be unpredictable. But if there's
no noticable improvement after about 1-2 months, you may want to get a
second opinion. Replacing it with amalgam is probably going to do more
harm than good, because more tooth structure needs to be removed (equals
more trauma).
