Please take better care of yourself. Take as much vitamin c that you can tolerate before getting to the point of diarrhea. To help fight the infection. Also take grapefruit seed extract in grapefruit juice. If you don’t hurry, you will need antibiotics and the infection can spread to your heart. Get at least an opinion if the tooth can be saved.  There is a really good root canal doc I went to in Florida named, Dr. Hardy. He uses some new root canal technique and uses endocal which supposedly goes into the fibers of your teeth better than the old stuff. Some dentists swear you need to pull teeth and never do a root canal. Reasons being that the nerves can never fully be removed and they are nesting ground for bacteria. Others do not. Their argument is that when a tooth dies, the root sometimes calcifies on its own, and doing a root canal mimicks this.

 Read up on cavitations, endocal, and “root canal cover up”.

You have no choice but to read. Or else you will loose the rest of your teeth and have to live on liquid drinks in your old age and then loose your bowel function and that means more health trouble. If you have no patience to read, or be informed or take a little time to find a dentist with good credentials, you are at the mercy of the dentist who has to pay his staff and pay the rent, who will do what is quickest and will make him the most money. Get an opinion from 2 GOOD dentists that have been in the area for a long time. Call the better business bureau with a list of possible dentists and see if they have any complaints about them. A dental university can also give you a fair opinion because there are usually teachers there and are not for profit. I know 2 good conservative dentists in the Clearwater area. Or you can look up the IAOMT for a list of dentists.

I am not a professional, but I did this for myself when I had a root canal. I also had another pulled and regret it because another doctor tells me it was a significant anchor tooth which I  may have considered a root canal.

I have a root canaled tooth that is draining nasty stuff, the crown fell off too.  I have a cracked tooth above it that just kills me when i chew.  I might just pull them both cause i've needed 6 root canals since moving to fl, two of them being redo's.
