(No) The silver is actually stronger, more durable and longer
lasting than the composite kind and aruably sexier...so I would
advise keeping them and getting the new cavity filled in silver to
match the others. If the tooth is chipped and is a molar it should
be replaced with silver or gold, otherwise for the front teeth
porcelain is recommended.( the dentist I went to recommended a crown
to cover the tooth, he did not say why but he recommended a
composite type for the crown)

diagnosis?? Do you have a digital camera? ( I have one but I have
never taken a pic of the inside of my mouth. Might work)
I would rather not have anymore amalgams in for health reasons.
