Evidently they scraped the walls of that hole, but didn't do it good enough so some bacteria was left. Or they introduced some.
Either way, Antibiotics is the easiest quickest way to kill bacteria.
It is most likely staph. (it is everywhere).
And the strongest thing against staph specific, is Doxy.
They gave us doxy for tootha ches, Doxy for post oral surgery (other antibiotics didnt' work, but yu can try them) They gave me doxy for a spider bite, too.
Root cananl "is" minor surgery, and they used to issue it routinely after RC's but there is a "scare" against issuing it for prophylaxis, now a days.
(Wish a REAL dentist would come to this list!)

Just some pre-med classes and some "rounds" and a lot of experience and study....
Abscess is not "supposed" to happen now, no.
