Dearest Swami-G,
Since you are deeply involved with energy work, I was curious if you
have ever heard of a modality called Zero Balancing. I'm entering
the health field, thru massage therapy, and have been doing quite a
bit of reading about ZB and starting to get feedback from others in
the massage and bodywork community regarding it.
I wanted to know what your take is on it. If you're not familiar
with it, a good description of it can be found at
www.zerobalancing.com .
It is described as being based on accupuncture and osteopathic
therapy. It involves balancing the physical structural body and the
energetic body, through contact with foundation joints, being in a
state of "interface". The man credited with developing the method
says, "With interface, the boundaries between two people are very
clear. There's no sense that the boundaries are merging. With
interface, you know where your space ends and my space begins - where
your body ends and my body begins. We're clear about who is
responsible for what." The work is done safely at interface, rather
than blending (boundaries merge and overlap), streaming (energy
passes from one to another, depleting the givers energy bank), and
channeling (energy passes through and not from the giver).
The man who developed this method back in the 70's was a general
M.D., osteopath and accupuncturist, who was looking to reconcile the
many differences between the Western science of medicine, and the
Eastern esoteric anatomy and theories about energy. He also had been
under instruction by Muktananda and experienced profound personal
revelations. It started as a project required for his accupuncture
education, and ended up and still is his lifes work.
Most who are trained in this are in the healthcare field (counselors,
accupuncturists, massage therapy, chiropractors, medical doctors,
etc.)
As everything is connected and interrelated, do you know how this is
related to the type of energy work you do? A lot of the doctors,
counselors, etc. state that the results have been profound and
although they are not exactly sure why it works...it most definitely
works, helping people with issues from postural problems to releasing
deep seeded mental, emotional and traumatic experiences from the
body's energy and structure, as well as taking people into a
meditative state and also benefits the practioner. It's all very
interesting....and I've yet to talk to anyone as qualified as you,
regarding the nature of this work. Since you have a background in
healthcare, energywork, and have completed the spiritual journey and
help others along the path...do you have any thoughts about zero
balancing?
As soon as I started reading about it (ZB), I thought of you and this
group right away and thought, "I wonder what Swami-G would say about
this. I have to write and ask." I look forward to your comments. I
hope others may find this as interesting as I did, and hope you may
shed some light on what it's really about. I respect you very much
and have been faithfully keeping up with all of the postings here and
in your other groups as well. Thank you for any insight you can
offer here. I also thank you for all that has been offered, that has
benefited myself and many others.
Love and respect,
John
