RE: [0-point] Re: from Siddhananda on the doing of energy work 0 point balance
S: When working.. the energy moves through ones own body and adjusts
out.. as the consciousness clears... the body becomes more of a
clear, direct channel... the body is more stable with less movement.
***So would you say 'practice makes perfect'?
G: not as you mean it .......
* I find it fascinating, the changes that take place in the mind and
body regarding this
energy. Do you know if any of these changes can be measured using
modern equipment?
G: eeg can measure the changes of consciousness through brainwaves .....
that much i
know and have participated in .....
* I remember something I read about UG Krishnamurti where he swears his
body is actually being transformed on a cellular level, physiological as
well as on a mind/consciousness level, but I
don't think he used energy work.
G: going through kundalini one feels this ..... it is a common
cognition....
* This sounds related, maybe. I guess it's all inter-related in
degrees of purity, depending on.***
S: When the practitioner is doing massage or Reiki, intention is
placed somewhere which means there is a sense of doership. This
takes effort on the part of the practitioner and is a drain on
energy. Also, holding intention or a sense of doership dams up the
energy... the results are more scattered energy... kind of like the
effects of a light bulb compared to a laser beam. In the former the
light is dispersed.. more widespread and weak.. whereas the
latter, the light is direct, potent and even flowing.. much more
effective at breaking up blockages which is just stuck energy. Once
these blocks are softened and dissolved consciousness is allowed to
expand. It is unatural to place intention when doing the work and
requires a holding of energy.. this does not come up with still mind
therefore the practitioner is not drained of energy and the receiver
experiences maximum benefits.
***Being in the massage/bodywork field now, I've been experimenting
with flow and not so much intention...just breathing and being in the
moment, acknowledging the energetic connection and my hands almost
know what to do by themselves sometimes.
G: yes it changes .....
* There may be times when you have to pause and access some
kind of information from the mind (say, about a particular muscle or joint),
then return to the breath and the connection.
G: why ?
* I usually start a session with an intention of
healing while I center myself, but then I let it go and try not to
think so much about what I'm doing...and just do it. Just like with
anything, I guess...practice until it's second nature...and it would
seem some of the doership would fade away. But I have definitely
experienced the drain on energy many times after working.
G: it is because you are the doer rather than simply allowing the
energy to work .....
* Am trying to find a solution to this. Proper body mechanics is one
thing,
which I try to be conscious of constantly...but the energetic drain
is quite another. When I'm drained, I know it...but when I'm not, I
just feel good even after working for hours.***
G: one does out your power the other does not .....
S: Anyone can learn the work. The energy work flows naturally
as sadhana deepens. It is the outcome of deep spiritual work and
cleansing. It is best to be connected to a Guru and make the work a
part of the path.
***I look forward to learning more about it, and making it part of my
path. Am glad to be connected to a genuine and qualified Guru.
Thank you Swami-S, for your explanations...and to Avlokita for
sharing your experiences. Am amazed that the work was able to undo
so many years of close-mindedness in a couple of sessions! Wow, it's
powerful stuff! Take care. Namaste.***
G: it is powerful ....... it can facilitate amazing turn arounds in a
very short
time ......
Sincerely,
John
