Namaste,
Hi John, I am a student of Swami-G's and have been practicing the 0-
point system for a couple of months. i hope you don't mind if i
take a shot at answering some of your questions even though i am
fairly new to the process.
First, I find that performing energy work is healing to myself as
well because I work from the heart, so i can feel energy pouring
from the heart chakra. this is always a nice sensation and normally
a kind of connection is made to the people i am working on.
I have yet to have the "drained" feeling after i work on someone.
this isn't to say that it can't happen. i have heard that when
working on someone very toxic, can cause a drain of your own
energy. i also think that it depends on how sensitive you are as
well.
I also don't know a bunch about reiki. what i do know is that just
because someone has the word "master" attatched to the title,
doesn't mean they know anything about the kundalini or have a full
understanding of how the energy works that they are running. a
true "master" is one that knows exactly what is going on with the
energy because they are self-realized.
The state of mind of the giver needs to be that of
stillness/meditation. when there is "intention" involved, then the
energy is hindered and there is doership involved. this path is
giving up the doership and coming to a point of stillness so that
the higher self/Absolute can come through. when i do energy work, i
find that when my mind is stilled then it becomes a natural kriya.
my hands automatically go to different chakra areas and start
balancing places that need balancing. if my mind is not stilled, i
don't feel the kriyas.
your question about explaining how the energy works is a tough one.
i had to try and explain it to my hard core fundamental christian
grandmother a couple months ago. she went ahead and let me work on
her but refused to believe that it was working. she was so closed
off she couldn't feel the energy...but she did feel the heat of my
hands. well, even though she thought i was nuts, she started going
through major detox. she was in a lot of pain for a couple of days
after i worked on her. i remember her calling me and telling me
that whatever i had done was satanic and i need to go back to jesus
and how i was raised. after her pain subsided her arthritis seemed
to be cured. after that, she apologized and wanted me to work on
her more. the more energy work i did, the more she let go of her
own conditioning becuase it was releasing the old beliefs. Just a
couple of weeks ago she asked to become a student of swami-g as
well, and now she is her oldest initiate. instead of going to bed
closed minded, her belief in God has expanded and she goes to bed
chanting mantras...hahaha quite the turn around!
Om,
Avlokita
