Swami-G and group,
Namaste. Wish you all well. Just had a couple of questions about
how this kind of energy work leaves the
giver/channeler...energetically, that is. Does working on others
balance or re-organize your own energy as well? Is there ever a
feeling of being drained or worn down during/after or the opposite
effect of feeling charged up?
I spoke with a massage instructor, and she says she only performs
massage in combination with Reiki...because otherwise she becomes
drained of energy...the Reiki helps keep the energy from being
drained from her (does some of the work for her without using her
energy), and is very healing for the client as well. I thought this
was a very interesting thing, but she couldn't explain much more than
that, or maybe didn't want to, I don't know. She's a "master-level"
practitioner and couldn't give a good explanation. Don't get me
wrong, she's one of the nicest people I've met...good intentioned to
the core. She was also a Transcendental Meditation teacher for many
years as well, whatever that's worth. From everything I've read
about Reiki, I still don't quite understand it.
I know Zero Point is not Reiki, as Swami-G has pointed out several
times...but was curious about the effects on the energy worker. What
is the state of mind of the giver during this kind of work? Is it
one of intention, or from a point of stillness like meditation mind?
And how would this kind of work be explained to someone without
confusing them or turn into a daylong seminar? How would you explain
how it is that you're able to do this work and why someone else would
not be able? It would seem that those who would be willing to have
the work done, would probably not be the traditional closed-off
type. I suppose it wouldn't go over very well with someone who
believes energy work is unGodly.
I'm looking forward to gaining a better understanding. Hope you
don't mind all the questions. Have a great weekend. Namaste.
Thank you,
John
